This class will be held in person at International House Davis every Thursday from 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM (starting from September 26th). You will need an I-House Learning Pass to attend this group after the first free trial class.

Hi everyone! My name is Luisa Rangel. (she, her, hers). I’m a teaching assistant at the Spanish/Portuguese department here in UC Davis. Prior to moving to the city of Davis, I used to live and work in Sonoma County. Teaching Spanish to highschoolers has been a great experience because I learned the ups and downs of  the mysterious adolescent life.

As an immigrant myself to this country, I faced many challenges to fit in a new culture and to learn a new language. The road was tumultuous but fun, now I am on the right path helping others to feel comfortable learning the second most spoken language in California.

Fun facts about me: I have two left feet when I need to dance salsa or any latin dances. Also, one of the items on my bucket list is to spend the rest of my life in India near the ocean and last but not least, I am Mexican and DO NOT like spicy foods, something very rare in the Mexican population.
