    Jessica Pekke is a UC Davis alumna proficient in five East African languages, namely Kiswahili (commonly known as Swahili), Kikuyu, Luhya, Luganda, and Lugisu. Beyond her linguistic skills, Jessica enjoys traveling, cooking, camping, and watching shows with her family. She draws inspiration from Swahili sayings, with her favorites being "Better to stumble with the toe than the tongue,” “Hurry hurry has no blessing,” and “A heart deep in love has no patience.” Jessica is excited to share with the I-House community her knowledge of Swahili, a rich Bantu language, is influenced by loan words primarily from Persian, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, German, and English. 

 

Waiver Statement:

I hereby release and agree to hold I-House harmless from and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, and compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act of I-House, or that may otherwise arise in any way in connection with any services received from I-House. I understand that this release discharges I-House from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives may have against the I-House with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, any activities I engage in at I-House. This liability waiver and release extends to the organization together with all directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and designees.
